Just finishing up restoration on 59 powerglide car. Have found correct kickdown rod but have question on connection at carb. was given two 7 L/R clips. the clip works on the firewall end but not at the carb. The carb end with the swivel does not have a hole for a cotter pin. Does anyone know what type of connector is used?

Re: '59 kickdown rod
Carb end uses similar but slightly different clip. See Sheet 5 of the rpo 313 sheet in your aim. Part number 3711177. Likely same as chev pass car.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: '59 kickdown rod
Do you know how I can get my hot little hands on a 3711177? Tried 3 parts suppliers, a wrecking yard, and 5 other individuals in the old Chevy business/hobby to no avail.- Top

Re: '59 kickdown rod
Either an old car boneyard or someone who deals with 'late 50's chev pass cars. It's a pretty common part "in the era"Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: '59 kickdown rod
I'm an idiot. The 3711177 clip is the same clip I have. The clip is still available through the dealership. The ones I have are stamped with a "P" which is different than the new ones. Not sure if that's of any great significance. I was attempting to install the swivel end at the carb and see now it is installed on the kickdown bracket assembly. It would appear from the manual the swivel end is mounted to the inside of the bracket assembly. Right now I have it mounted on the outside which is the only way I can mount it with a 3711177 style clip. The assembly manual shows a 3700188 clip for the swivel end which I'm assuming is just the opposite version of the 3711177 clip. Is this a correct assumption? I have yet to adjust the rod for proper transmission function.- Top
