Two, how about involving someone younger that either doesn't have one of these, or helping out younger members that need guidance in fixing or restoring?
    You asked for my $0.02.
I think that this is an interesting statement. I am willing to guess that the average age of the members here is well over 50 or so... not that there is anything wrong with that, but its too bad there isn't a corvette mentoring program! (if there is one, please tell me about it)

I am on the other side of 50 and am "working" on getting my first Vette after 20 years of dreaming about getting one.

You may get some passion back by giving a little something of yourself.

    Blessings

I have noticed too that a lot of Classified ads have had wording similar to:

"I have owned car for 35 years and have lost interest"

And I have personally been told this many times via phone calls and e-mails. Some of these cars are being sold fairly reasonably, only to be gobbled up and flipped at much higher prices, which only seems to prevent a younger crowd from getting involved and continuing the passion.

I know most folks could care less about "legacy", which is ironic considering what the NCRS is about....

Anyway, I hope the OP finds what he is looking for, regardless of what it is.

Sell it, drive it, show it, trailer it, take it all apart and start over again, give it away, donate it, build a resto rod, drag race it, road rally it, do local cruise in, parts it out, street race it for pinks, or trade it. Just don't let it sit there under a cover doing nothing.

But the best idea I can think of is to sign the back of the registration and drop the car off at my house.

Don't they make little blue pills for that?
I get emails all the time for them. Do you want me to forward some of them (the emails I mean) to you?

Re: How do I regain my Corvette passion?

I went through the very same thing, years ago. Did a complete frame up on a '62, this is really before NCRS was even close to what it is today. NCRS was changing the rules as more knowledge of the cars became known. So things I did, were now all wrong. I was sick of the whole experience and waited a few years before I knew I had to sell it. I couldn't bring myself to drive it, for the same reasons you had. Sold it, and of course regretted it and tracked down another '62 ASAP. What I have now is a respectable numbers matching car. It is now a show winner, just a good car that I am not afraid to drive and it turns heads. Now, I really enjoy the driving it. This is what I lost, when I restored the first '62. Some people can drive them after all the work and money, some can't and I couldn't either. Funny thing is, the guy I sold it to had no trouble driving it. I ended up doing what I really wanted to do when I got into a '62 Corvette back in '72, got one to drive and feel young again. Sell it and buy the car of your dreams back or learn to drive it. Many of us get trapped in a way on these hobbies. After awhile, you wonder if we own the car or if the car owns us.

                    Dave,

Since I know you and your car I have to make this comment: I think your car has helped you through some rough times and I respect you for the work you have done to it and the fact that you do drive and enjoy it.

Your comment "you wonder if we own the car or the car owns us" is so true in many cases.
