    69 carpet/guage cluster

I have all my electric and vacuum lines run throught firewall.
need advice on what should be installed first on a 69, carpet or gauge clusters, seams to me the carpet should go in first so the center console set's on the carpet, then the center console and then left and right dash's

You can install the carpet before the dash if you want to. I find it easier to work from left to right. Driver's dash, center cluster, then passenger's side.

      Hi Paul,
I found that the carpet needs to be trimmed to fit up under the sides of the shifter and e-brake consoles. If you don't trim the carpet there's too much 'material' under the sides of the consoles because it extends up too far, and forces the console sides out.
In order to do this I felt the consoles (and thus the center gauge cluster) had to be in place first.
My sequence was to put the driver's side lower dash pad in place first, (before the center cluster), even though this makes access to the forward parts of the driver's side carpet more difficult.
I was very careful to trial fit, cut a tiny bit, trial fit again, cut a tiny bit, etc., etc., until I had the fit I wanted. Be VERY careful what you cut!
      Regards,
      Alan
