1961 License Plate Frames

I picked up a pair of License Plate Frames that the owner indicated that they were from his 1961 Corvette that he had never installed and had been laying around in his shop. They have a paper tag with the same patient number that is stamped on another pair that I also have. The frames are in plastic bags that are very thin like the plastic on dry cleaned cloths bags. Interested in hearing if older plates came this way with tags and if this is correct.

Being these are early frames and have the pat pending tag do they also have the pat pending stamping in the two spring retainers?

The frames Do Not have the pat pending number on the springs.

I believe these were not supplied for 61,62 or earlier Corvettes.
Possibly started for the mid-years in 1963.

I can tell you this much: the original license plate frame supplied with my 1969 were supplied in thin plastic "bags". Whether they were doing that in 1961 I do not know. However, 1961 Corvettes did not use the same license plate frames as 63-82.

Midyear question: Do you loose points if such a "dealer prep. switch" caused you to not get a GM supplied license plate frame?
