    66 L72 Holley Photo

This is the 3247 on my L72, if I read it correctly it is 1965 October 4th week.
Engine build date is Feb 21. Car build date is March 02, 1966.
This appears to be an original Holley, not a repro or service replacement, correct?
Is this carb too early for my engine?
    Thanks for any comments

My understanding is for Holley 3-digit date codes (such as mine of 504) the first digit is year, so this is 1965, second digit is month (1 thru 0 then A and B) so 0 is the tenth month hence October, and third digit is the week of that month, so 4th week.

Thanks Don. I would think considering build date of the car, carb might be somewhat early but not enough for me to go looking for a closer dated carb....

          Don,

          Here's a shot of mine:

I think you're good. My carb is dated 651 (1st week of May 1966). It's closer to my engine build date (5/16/66) and car ship date (May 24, 1966, I believe) than yours. But as John H. has mentioned many times, assembly line workers paid no attention to dates. I'm probably preaching to the choir.

          Joe
