Bryan -- you're probably concerned only with the back head cast date; the pulley [6_3/8" versus 5_3/4 " dia.]; slotted whistle pressure relief rather than center hole, and the clutch (6-hole versus 3-squares) can be easily handled.

There's one on eBay right now that has a back head date of B_26_5 and a mid-March assembly with proper swage case. This should do the trick for judging, in spite of the 3-4 month gap. As a bonus, it looks like it has the correct pulley, unless you need the L76 specimen. Can't see the clutch face from the pics.

(caveat): I have no connection to this auction.

Swedged case is likely as important as the date on the back plate, sounds like a plan, I'd go for it if I needed one.
