Bryan -- you're probably concerned only with the back head cast date; the pulley [6_3/8" versus 5_3/4 " dia.]; slotted whistle pressure relief rather than center hole, and the clutch (6-hole versus 3-squares) can be easily handled.
There's one on eBay right now that has a back head date of B_26_5 and a mid-March assembly with proper swage case. This should do the trick for judging, in spite of the 3-4 month gap. As a bonus, it looks like it has the correct pulley, unless you need the L76 specimen. Can't see the clutch face from the pics.

Swedged case is likely as important as the date on the back plate, sounds like a plan, I'd go for it if I needed one.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Wayne Gazun Heit.. I .bought it...you just made me feel better. grabbed it last night before I read this.,..guy is in Marengo,IL about half hour from me. i am going have to rebuild it but it will put it back to where it should be. I plant to send it the STV on the car and a muffler I found to Classic Air. any better ideas.
