radiator tag placement

Just purchased a new deWitts radiator for my 57. I also got a new ID tag. Where does the tag mount? Is it painted? What's the best way to mount it? Thanks.

The tag mounts on the back surface of the top tank centered from left to right and top to bottom.

I think I mounted it with JB Weld, and it's been on for a couple of thousand miles and is still tight.

It is painted black the same as the radiator.

original tags werre soldered to the tank in the position that bruce describes. i soldered the ID tag to my 55 upper tank and it was a no brainer. mike

Stephen, make sure it's above the radiator shroud. Bottom of the tag is right above the edge of the shroud. Gary....

Is the DeWitt 56-57 radiator a correct replacement or a direct fit and how about their 58?

John it is one of the direct fit models. Hope to get it in this weekend. So don't know about fit yet. Thanks for the reply.

all 55-60 direct fit radiators come with a 58-60 mounting strap. on a 58-60 corvette the radiator will bolt like the original. 55-57 corvettes had a mounting strap that was one inch higher and the direct fit radiator will not have the upper hole and tacked nut on the bracket.
