1969 435hp Smog Diverter Signal Hose Routing

    Good Morning,

Can anyone provide a photo that shows the correct smog diverter signal hose routing for a 1969 435 tri-carb configuration? The AIM is vague regarding the routing/connection of the diverter signal hose. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks in advance...!!!

Re: 1969 435hp Smog Diverter Signal Hose Routing

Hello out there 435 hp owners
I have the same questions for 1969 435hp Smog Diverter Signal Hose Routing

Looking at some bad photos I have of 69 435hp cars, It seems near the end the right side vaccum tube is joined by a Tee?? The lateral Tee end is connected to the Diverter hose. The center Tee has a 3 inch white line hose and that connects to the carb
Any help is great as I have another 69 435hp owner asking the same question

Thanks in advance for any pictures or reply

    Grant

Re: 1969 435hp Smog Diverter Signal Hose Routing

        Hi Chris
Thanks for the picture as it helps to confirm a few things on the diverter hose routing
I sent you a couple of emails but not sure if you got them.
        1. on your valve cover is your 736 PVC is it the first design with the top flat ring
        2. I was wondering what are the exhaust bolt configuration on your early car from the first front bolt of drivers all the way to the back bolt
Also the bolt head configurations on the first front passenger side and all the way to the end, including the bolt holding the dip stick.

I have seen mostly flanged bolts with rounded top and some normal bolts used. I looked at a 5 star 69 June L88 and the first and last bolts on both sides were of similar pattern to a bellhousing bolt. It had raised edge on the top of the bolt.

So I was thinking is 68 69 L71 and L89 used similar bolts and not of the L88 style

if you have the time can you send info or pictures to my email to grantwong@telus.net
        Thanks, grant

Grant here are some photos. I’ll look through my library to see how the manifold bolts were installed. Chewitt272@aol.comC6500A31-8A0B-4897-BA4F-B3E85048C01C.jpgFE3EE704-D58E-4F4B-8694-368D4B26CF1C.jpg

            Thanks for your help.
Just a foot note. The person that I am helping has an August 68 built 69 L71 , He has the orange plastic on the throttle cable. On my Sept 68 built 69 L71 it has the black throttle plastic on the throttle cable

            Thanks again for your help.

Grant, here are some more photos. I cleaned up the bolt head so you can see more detail. The shouldered manifold bolts are used on the corner of the block, (#s 1,7,2,8).
