Thanks for the input. I tried tracing the wiring harness under the hood, it looked o.k.. I checked the dash switc, and added a ground wire from the switch, to the metal dash. I am puzzled as to why the wiper motor runs with the ignition locked, in the off position. Thanks again for everyones help......Phil

Phil are you telling us the addition of the ground to the dash switch solver the problem?

Nope, I still have the problem, just like I described. I added a ground wire to the switch, as I was advised. Did not change a thing. I looked in the assembly manual, and saw that there is a relay attached the rear of the tach, that is both electrical, and vacuum. This relay apparently activates the wiper arm door with vacuum, could the electrical portion of the relay have something to do with the wiper motor operation? I read an "on line" article about the restoration of the wiper door system, and they were not very clear about the actual function of this relay. The bottom line is that with the ignition off, and the dash switch off, the wiper motor will run at low speed. The only way to stop it, is to use the override knob.........Phil

That relay is sent power from the wiper switch to then bleed vacuum off to open the wiper door. Is it possible that you have the power and ground wire swapped at the wiper motor.
