70 rear wiring harness metal clip

I have a reproduction rear wiring harness on my 70. There is a metal clip taped in the harness about 8" from where it passes through the rear bulkhead. Just wondering if it is another ground or just a clip to keep the harness attached to the frame.

Really wish I saved the original now even though it was totally shot.

It kinda looks like it might be intended to clip on the frame.

I may be able to get a picture if needed.

    Thanks, Bill

        Hi Bill,
On my 71 that clip slips into a slot in the top of the frame rail that's located at that point.
It's called out as 'gage hole' in the AIM page for the rear lighting harness. UPC 12 Sheet C6
        Regards,
        Alan

Near 90 degrees today! All cars should be convertibles!

Hmmm. I looked at my AIM but did not see that reference. Maybe I need new glasses

          Thanks, Bill

            HI Alan,

Any chance you might have a picture? I cannot seem to figure out exactly how the clip attaches.

            Thanks,

            Bill

Re: 70 rear wiring harness metal clip

              Hi Bill,
I'm sorry I can't get my camera up in position to take a picture.
This picture does show the 'gage' slot however. It the forward slot just an inch behind the forward clip for the vapor line.
The clip from the harness should be shaped like a tight 'J'. The long leg is taped in the harness and the short leg is in the slot. Depending just how the harness was made the clip can be clipped into the forward end of the slot or the side of the slot.
The AIM drawing was actually pretty representative of how it fit on my 71.
              I hope this helps.
              Regards,
              Alan

Hmmm. I do not see it shown on the 70. I checked UPC 12 C6 and it is not there. I wonder if there was a change.
