I have the original engine out of my '65 Coupe, probably for the first time ever. There are some chalk marks that I have found under 47 years of dirt and grease. These marks, in a yellow chalk read "d H". They are on both side of the block. Anyone know what these letters mean?
Thanks. Mike

You know Mike, I don't suppose you need me to tell you what a feat that is to have the original finish on your engine. Congratulations and enjoy your Corvette.
Here are a couple of more photos. Doing all of this to move up the NCRS 2nd Floight to Top Flight (hopefully).
I wonder why the pan gasket on the right side is actually a gasket for the left side? Note the configuration/loop for the dip stick.
