    '68 Turn signal switch wiring/harness

Anyone know what the additional signal switch harness connection is for? I needed to replace my signal switch and noticed the additional harness connection, it was taped up and not in use. It has 3 wires, brown, gray, and black w/ white stripe. I notice in the AIM UPC 12 B4 something about an optional directional signal flasher asm, I suspect this additional connection is related to a vehicle option.

    Thanks!

Later today I will take a look at my original owner 68 and see if I have this additional harness connection. I also have a new 68 turn switch that I bought over 20 years ago stored somewhere that I will open up if I find it and see if the additional wiring is included.

Mystery solved. The replacement switch I purchased from Shee Mar has some issues (turn signal handle won't seat properly in the switch, even w/ shorter screw and locking washer) so in talking w/ Shee Mar to get a replacement I asked this question. Seems the additional three prong connector is for cornering lights. Obviously then the switch I am replacing is not original to my '68 (it is vintage though as it has the red tape "BPMA" sticker) as C3s did not have cornering lights. The remainder of the switch though is correct for my '68.
