Hi all, I'm looking to replace the high pressure fuel pump cable on a 1959 fuel injection car. How complicated is this? Is it extensive? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Jason

Re: High Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Cable
its not complicated but a time consuming ordeal(getting the ends of the cable inserted into the distributor and the high pressure pump). once a fi vette of mine has been judged, i usually run the cable without the housing.mike- Top

Re: High Pressure Fuel Pump Drive Cable
Unscrew the housing end at the distributor, push the other end into the pump housing, then bend the housing to pull the cable out of the distributer. If the cable doesn't come out use a needle nose pliers to pull it out.
Than remove the end from the pump.
No big deal.
Assemble starting with the pump end first and be sure the cable is into the pump. Then insert the the distributor end while bending the housing enough to be able to insert the cable.
Take your time and you can do the whole operation in 15 minutes or so.- Top
