1957 carpet hold down screws

I'm helping a friend with their 57 Corvette carpet. When I removed the carpet, I found 6 screw holes for hold down screws. The usual two each side by tunnel where your feet go, and one additional on each side further rearward by the tunnel. My old 57 manual says no more than 8 screws. The AIM only shows 4. This is a 5XXX vin car. Are the 6 OK to reinstall? Thanks,

I my opinion as a 56/7 interior judge, 3 per side would be acceptable.

and as the owner of a 57 thats been through the system, anything more than the 3 each side will cause you grief... been there done that.
