'73 LS4 w/C60 TSB Rivets

Does anyone know if the rivets used to install the TSB Additional Rubber Air Dam on the '73 LS4 with the C60 Option are BLACK or SILVER (Natural)? This service would have been done by the Chevrolet Dealership only and not at the factor from what I understand to be.

Tried to add some attachments of the underneath side of the front of my car air dam area, but unable to figure out the new procedure for attachments? Sorry.

Peter I have the service bulletin for that modification, but it is packed away. I haven't completely unpacked yet from our move. I will see if I can get to it this week end and email you a complete copy of the service bulletin. Would that help?

I had several of those kits when I was in the parts business, and if my memory serves me, the rivets were natural aluminum. They were 3/16" with a large head.

I believe you are right, but I'm not sure! I'm getting old and can't remember much. I'll see if I can find the bulletin.

Michael..thanks, but Terry did send me a copy of the TSB. After reading it I don't see where is mentions or addresses the color of the rivets. I have seen pictures of both Black and Silver, but of course the black could have been painted on later to match the airi dam?

Do you have a part # for the rivet? The aim calls out the same rivet that attaches front urethane cover to lower reinforcement (once factory started installing those air dams at plant), which those rivets are BLACK on my car, (undersides as well). Rivets used by dealers to retro-fit earlier cars may well use some substitute! My car was an October '72 build (no air dam)

My 73 LS4 with C60 with 45,853 miles has Black large rivets. I have seen two others that also have Black rivets. It was built on 3-1-73 #416327.

My Mid April build car also has the large black rivets. I have seen these exact rivets in body shop small parts accessories bins

I'm pretty shore that the Dr. Rebuild (Big Head Black Aluminum Solid Rivet 1274740) are acceptable if not dead on.
