    Radial Tires for 1965

Just purchased a 65 small block coupe - car came with a set of orig. steel wheels, original wheel covers mounted with bias ply white walls for judging -also came with 5 boltons mounted with radial Goldlines. Never been much of a Goldline guy, since I have judging covered with the other set up, I am thinking about buying new W/W radials - as long as they have about a 1" whitewall. Since I don't need them for judging was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I should look at ? Thanks for any help.

    Ed,

Others will chime in but think the white wall is 5/8" wide for that particular year.

      Mike,
Just sold my 65 L78 which had 1" w/w - judging manual calls for 1" w/w and 3/8" goldlines. When I bought the tires 3 years ago 1"w/w were getting harder and harder to find. I still am looking at the manual I used
in 2003 to get the car in shape, so it's far from being current but I doubt that tire info would have changed. The trouble I ran into 3 years ago is why I am asking for help now, as I don't think they will be any easier to find. Happy holidays.

        Ed:
And a very Merry Christmas to you. Bill Sangrey is almost done with my 65. I purchased P205/75R15 Uniroyal Tiger Paw 1" white from my local tire dealer in Bordentown, NJ. RW Tire has them is stock. I think I paid around $70 each....Carry out no mounting.
        Regards

I just purchased a set of Goodyear Integrity P205/75R15 W/W at my local dealer. I would think the W/W is about 5/8". They make very good driver tires.

Also I almost forgot DO NOT USE TIRE DRESSING!!!!!!!!! It will turn your W/W brown.
