Originals with the "12V" and "091" stamped in the correct location are extremely hard to find now. I have been searching for a month with no luck. There are vendors with "091" coils for sale, but they are reproductions or later models with the 12V and 091 stamped near the top of the coil case, not near the bottom as original.

if you want a 091 coil identical to the one pictured call pronesti classics, cell number 352-638-5778. the coils are identical and even has the small holes that retain the clips on the top. this is a item that gets sold out as soon as they arrive, so there might be a waiting list.

Thanks Joe. I have been looking for several weeks as well. I'll keep you posted if I find any. I searched for a year for a correct voltage regulator... Susan

There is an 091 on eBay for $399.00, item #140661729336. Don't know if its what you want. I have no affiliation with the seller.

I bought a repo for $99. I took the shoulder/steps off the side of the tower and polished it to make it look like the rest of the top. Next, drill 4 holes in the top for the wire keeper. Looks great except for the 091 being in the wrong place. I haven't had it judged yet, but I would believe just 1 point deduction for the 091 in the wrong place.

Thanks so much! This seems like a very practical alternative... Susan

I only received a 2 point deduct for a 100% incorrect Delco Remy ignition coil. Unless you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars for a correct coil, Bob's plan is the most cost efficient and the appearance will be close.

Joe, thanks so much. That's great to know... If I don't find one at a reasonable cost I think both John and Bob's approaches are terrific alternatives to consider. I love this tech board!!!!!! thanks again for your input. Susan
