I have collected some original literal for my 58'. My owners manual, Corvette owners fuel injection guide (something like that), service pamplet, and mailer all say "LITHO" on the back. However, I have a Corvette (only) options brochure, a Chevy color options brochure, and two different sized dealer showroom complete line sales brochures that don't say "LITHO." Are all supposed to say LITHO ? Does anyone know how this works and what the story is????

Re: Early Factory Brochures and Literature
Litho or " Lithography " is a printing process by which the image is directly transferred to the paper by means of a plate. It was great for fast & economical mass printing. If it doesn't say Litho, then another process was used to get the image on the paper. " Offset " printing was coming into it's own in the 50's, and eventually took over the printing process, thus elininating Litho.- Top

Re: Early Factory Brochures and Literature
" Offset " printings popularity came in the 50"s There was no difinitive time line. GM"S literature was produced by many many different printers, large ones & small ones, with price point being the objective, and not process. GM put out a lot of literature, and it all came out with the introduction of the new cars each year.- Top
