With dads new project comes new parts. And for the exhaust I thought about the N11 until I read Nolan's book. Why could you not get the N11 with a L36 and M35. What would the points deduct be for this? Dad wants something better sounding then the Allens he has on his 67 SB

Keith -- the only thing I can think of is that the larger diameter N11 exhaust pipes would have interfered with the pan on the Powerglide. It was the same non-availability situation looking at the Dealer Order forms for 1966 and 1967; L79 small block or BB. The General would have had to design and stock yet another two sets of forward pipes, and for the estimated demand, not worth the trouble/cost.

I have a set of N11s on a C3 with turbo 400 trans. It just takes a slight modification on the RH side at the center hanger. If I recall correctly, I needed to lengthen the RH front or rear(I don't remember which) pipe a little.
