    1960 Lower Radiator Support

I plan to replace the worn out shims, rubber cushions, etc. First, I have to figure out how to remove the two carriage bolts as the ends of both bolts twisted off. I believe there are tabs bent over the tops of the carriage bolts. Gaining access to see the tabs and bend them up will be the tough part.

How do I create the space so that I can add the shims and rubber cushions? Will I need to raise the front of the body by jacking up some part of it?

Joe, you're correct about the tabs bent over the heads of the carriage bolts. You may have to unbolt the radiator from the support to raise it enough to get access. As to lifting the body, how about a 2X4 "U" to place under the support either side of the mount and lift it there with a floor jack? You'll only need to raise the body a little higher than the design position (height of new pads, shims, etc.) to drop the new bolts in place. Should be pretty straight forward.
