    67 interior paint color

I am hoping to get some input on interior paint color. My 67 roadster has a dark saddle interior. My questions are:
    1. whether the interior painted moldings on my hardtop and the lower interior windshield painted moldings should be the same shade of dark saddle?
    2. Should all of the other interior painted surfaces(lower interior windshield molding, dash, shifter console, interior trim panels--behind the seats, and seat backs) be the same shade of dark saddle?
After many years in the Florida sun the painted surfaces are a bit faded and not everything faded uniformly so I am unsure what matched what.
3.Was the interior paint lacquer? 4.What is the best source for correct interior dyes and paints
    Thanks for your input.

    Re: 67 interior paint color

I dont know the saddle interior very well. I have never had one myself, but I have seen several come through the shop. I can tell you that in the case of most optional interiors, the colors were not exactly the same. The reason for this is that they were done at different times with different materials. The dash pads were either vinyl and colored throughout, or were dyed. The dye is a totally different product than the paint for the hard fiberglass parts. The hard parts on the dash and including the kick panels were done in a flat lacquer paint. This was done to eliminate glare. The quarter panels tended to be simi-gloss, and the console tended to have more gloss than the other parts. As to the exact shades, I cant advise.

Re: 67 coupe interior paint color

Just to add to what Wayne says for you coupe guys. The coupe A pillar molding had a discernible shine compared to the dash and front of the dash molding. No matter how old the original paint is you can still notice the difference.

Neal, Have you searched the archives? Some one not too long ago(may have been John) posted a listing of the different degrees of gloss for the different interior parts that was very helpful. I know my 66 saddle interior had three or four different shades of color on the various parts. As far as your question on the color of the inside lower windshield trim I would love to hear what other have to say on this but I belive going by the original paint on my piece that it is the same shade and low gloss as the fiberglass dash.
