    58 lower "A" arms

I just removed my lower A arms and one has two small rust holes in it. Does anyone restore them or will I have to buy a after market to replace it? It it can be restored please let me know who I can send it to.

Without pictures, there is NO WAY to have a clue what the extent of the rust is nor the size of the holes!
It is possible that the A-frame can be thoroughly blasted to remove ALL rust and then welded and the welded area ground down to match the original surface.
If it is too bad, then it can be easily replaced. The 53-62 Vette and 49-54 pass car front suspension parts (such as A-frames) are the same.

One little bit of added information. The lower A-frames on 53-62 Vettes are sorta, but not exactly left and right. What makes them L or R is the bracket for the sway bar that is spot welded onto the bottom of the A-frame. If a left A-frame is needed, but all that can be located is a right one, then the 4 spot welds can be carefully drilled then lightly tap the bracket to knock it off. Grind and smooth the spots on the A-frame then have the bracket spot welded to the opposide of the A-frame and VOILA, you've changed a right A-frame to a left one. TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EASY!

Thanks for the information Tom. The holes are very small. May look and having a local welding shop look at repairing it.

I would carefully inspect the a-arms for non-perforating rust damage. If the a-arms show rather extensive evidence of corrosion pitting, I'd be very reluctant to consider them for further use. Just because they might not have extensive rust-THROUGH does not mean that the metal is not thin in other areas.

If the a-arms show evidence of extensive pitting type corrosion, I'd look for better used arms.

Thanks Joe for the response. Plan on looking for another one to go on the left side.
