Original Gas Cap Swivel Pin Question

I was recently informed that my gas cap has the incorrect pin that passes through the assembly and fastens it to the lower mounting bracket. It looks as if it might have been replaced and the cap will not stay open on its own. My father also has a 66 Coupe, which has a reproduction cap installed, but his pin has a small head on both sides. Can someone confirm if my cap has the correct pin or not.

This is the original cap for my car and the original owner had disassembled it to remove the cracked emblem. I refurbished it as best i could with a new emblem. I had the underside re-plated, but had to use epoxy to hold the pieces together since the rivets had been drilled out.

Anyway, here are the pictures of the pin.

Passenger side-this is the portion i was told was too thick and should be thinner.

      Christopher,

I have my original that was taken off the car in 1979 and I have a NOS that was purchased in the very early 80s.
The original on the passenger side looks the same diameter as yours but possibly thinner. The drivers side on the original has no head-only the pin diameter slightly recessed into the housing.

On the NOS one, neither side has a head at all.
