    Hi Brian,

My left side handle broke earlier and I see that 68405 would be the left side, my mistake. How were you able to check these numbers with the handles on the car or do you have an extra #2 left side handle you would like to sell?

my passenger side is #1 design with part number 68404 cast on the under side. it has a "C" inside a dimaond as well.
Driver side is # 3 with part number LH 3962693 and a small WM logo in a hex shape.

My car has 42,000 miles last inspected in 1984 and put into a barn in PA since. Driver side is # 3 style, perhaps replaced at some point.

        trim tag is march 7th
        Build date is march 8th.

Here is a set of each if you need pictures of the older styles. My car (March) has the #1 style. The #'s are 68404 with an R and the a 68405 L on the fat ones and the same #'s on the thin ones with no L R markings. Three have that diamond with the C in it. and one no C in the diamond.

                    Re: 1968 Door Handles

September 1967 built has the #2 (thick) handles.
I agree that #2 was the "early" handle, #1 was the "mid" handle, and that #3 was the "late" handle.

Terry, I might have an extra #2 left handle. I'll check and let you know.
