I recently have been talking with an owner with if I remember correctly a build date of 2/22/1968. I will try and get in touch with him to check the number of braces on his car. I will post the information later on.

Interesting Howard, my 68 2/19/1968 convertible does not have baces. Wonder when the factory began installation of the braces?

From the survey that we have been conducting for the last couple of weeks, it is looking like the change was toward the end of February--right in line with yours and Howard's cars. We have found a Feb. 16 car without them.

End of Feb? How about the early March A/C cars without the braces but with the pass. side bracket?

I would echo that for the March cars (no AC in my case). Detailed inspection reveals no signs of the braces having been installed but corner support brakets are in place.

Feburary-built 68; #11552; trim tag G16; no A/C; corner gussets with weld nuts; no braces; no saddle.
