Hi Don, Back from Corvette Carlisle now but totally shot. Anyhow I saw something in the posts you should be aware of. The weak link in a 58 to 61 FI unit is that the cranking signal valve is screwed into the intake manifold (plenum). Backfiring can quickly blow out one of those expensive critters. If you get the engine started and it runs like crap and blows out black smoke you will know that the CSV is trashed. John
P.S. Crude way to run without a CSV. Eliminate it from the system by installing a longer piece of rubber hose between the CSV and the metal vacuum line. Get the car started one way or another and then clamp the rubber hose off. In theory you have removed it from the system and you could drive across the country with a blown CSV.- Top
