    Correct shock color

I am working on a 1973 Corvette for a customer. I would like to know the correct color of the shocks. I do not have a judging manual for this year Vette. Please send answer to: ccsr1@verizon.net

The correct color is a slightly bluish gray. The Quanta Products shock paint is about as close as you can get. However, I think that most judges would accept a straight gray.

Joe, Does this also apply to a '72. Also do you know of any off the shelf paint that is a good substitute for Quanta?

Yes, it definitely applies to 1972. Quanta has the color just about right. There's none others that I know of that come as close. However, I think that if you just paint them any medium gray you'll be OK for judging.

Mark, here's a photo of one of my original '67 shocks.

This shock has the original paint on it. Completely orginal.
          Hope this helps, Ridge
