1960 PG Tranny to Crossmember Diagram

I have searched the 1960 AIM and the 1961 Chevy passenger car repair book and can not find an exploded view of the configuration of parts that hold the back end of the PG to the crossmember.

I noticed last night that one of the two bolts (parts dealers call them "tranny mount cushion to tranny mount bracket attaching bolt" was missing. Paragon and CC show these bolts entering from the top of the mounting bracket down through the mounting bracket with a lock washer and nut.

This is not what I found on my PG mounting set up. The remaining bolt was inserted from the bottom, passed through the rubber cushion and screwed into the mounting bracket. No room for a nut on the top end, but I installed a locking washer under the bolt head.

Is there any way to replace the rubber cushion without removing the PG tranny?

Is there a reference book that shows the way these parts go together?

    Joe,

In order to replace the rubber cushion, you'll need to jack up the trans and remove the cross member. I just did this on my car (it is a 4sp could be different..........).

On my car, the bolts go up through the bottom with nuts on the top. No way to get the bolts in from the top down.

In the AIM, under RPO 313, sht 2, it does show the mounting, but without the bolts. Looking at the picture I would assume they go int from the bottom up.

I looked through my reference material here and could not find anything specific pertaining to the bolts.

If I understand the process, place jack under PG, remove the two bolts that secure the PG to the crossmember, and raise the PG.

How much lifting does it take to clear the crossmember? Just enough to remove the weight from the crossmember or more?

I assume since the PG is bolted to the engine, the rear of the PG can not be raised very much.
