64 Dash Color / Trim Code

I looked at a 1964 FI Convertible today with a 490BB trim code. I expected the dash to be color keyed to the interior which is blue but the dash is black. Checking the 63-64 JG I find the answer to this unclear at best. Should the dash be black or blue?

Hi Jeff 490BB=blue vinyl so the dash should be blue, take a good look at it, dark blue dashes look black. Phil 8063

I believe you are correct. I had it in my mind that Daytona Blue was lighter but I got my color chart and realized it is VERY dark. The car was partially covered and dirty so I bet the dash was dark blue. I guess my eyes are getting old.
