Hi Jean-Francois,
If you think you'd like to try to do the tray restoration yourself there was a very good article in THE RESTORER, (vol. 36, no. 1, Summer 2009), written by member Don Lowe. The info is pretty complete with some good pictures.
Good Luck!

Alan

JF: I wrote the tech article after I did my own restoration. It really wasn't too difficult and the materials are easily found at local woodworkers shops. If you want to try it yourself but don't have the article, PM me. I think I still have the file and would be happy to share it with you.

Hi - I did it myself. I took what I had and mended it from the inside (the part that does not show) and then bought some felt and 3m contact cement (spray) and coated the visible part with the black felt. Came out great. The stiff cardboard type material was not all that bad on mine so minor repairs and stiffening was not a problem. Not to "Show" standards but came out great and was inexpensive. Not sure if that is what you are looking for. Good Luck.
