My buckets all look silver, Were the replacements yellow or do I need to yellow plate the ones I have?

I don't think the yellow fades or does it?

Every NOS one and most originals that I've seen from the era were that gold galvanized look. I have no idea what that plating is.

The cups from some cars that lived in the frozen north with salt spray seemed to loose the gold galvanized plating.

I vaguely remember that any type of cleaner like naval jelly etc quickly removes the plating.

OK,
I am moving my buckets to the yellow plating box that I have waiting to be plated.

Makes me wonder if I silver plated some other parts on the vette that were yellow?

The 63 hasn't seen day light since 1971 and the 67 lived in the corner of the shop since the late 70's.

My only explanation of the silver looking ones that came off my 63 & 67 plus what I schrounged in the CA junk yards out here is that it must have been the california sun.

That's wierd as you can see in my pics. I will go with the flow.

It's possible that they used both "yellow" and "silver" plating. We need more members stepping up to the plate.

Yes, it is possible. We haven't seen em all.
