1961 Expansion Tank

My 61 vette has a build date in November 1960. When I began the restoration process a few years ago, I noticed it had an expansion supply tank (radiator) with the wrong date code. I purchased a new supposedly correct one from DeWitt and it has the date code of 60K. However, the judging manual says that 1960 calendar year production expansion supply tanks have "6" rather than "60". Should it be "6" or "60"?

I have a November 14, 1960 built '61 with the original expansion tank. It is a "6", not a "60".

I am looking at my original battered & beaten expansion tank from my Oct./Nov (1960) BUILT 1961

It reads 6 J

The one on my car for at least 20 years reads 60 K

Which I believe purchased at Country Corvette.

If I can nget the org. tank restored I will put it back where it belongs.

My car was 6J. I too ordered a replacement from Dewitt. It read 60J. I contacted them and after a significant debate, they took it back. It is incorrect so don't accept it!!

Maybe you got the one I returned last year!!!
