    '69 rocker molding screws

I need some assistance with the configuration and size of the 2 screws on each side that go in the two front tabs of the black fiberglass rocker moldings on a '69. These screws go in vertically at the front. The part number is the same as the screws that secure the lower shifter boot on a manual but since I have an automatic I can't check this. The AIM picture looks like it is an indented hex head. What is the configuration and what size socket fits ( I can get the right size if I know the socket size). Thanks!

    Re: '69 rocker molding screws

    Hi Jeffery
Here is the screws on my 68. I had bought an original 69 side fender and it had one set of the original screw and nut. On my original 68 fender I found one set of the same screw and nut in a bag. So I am 100% sure these are the right ones. I only had one slot on each fender so that was a bonus.
Hope this helps, just a reminder the black side rocker screws. The original black phosphated Philips screws heads fit in the slot perfectly. REpops sit above.
    Thanks, grant

      Grant,
Thanks for the reply. This is exactly what I was hoping to see. If it's not too much trouble could you tell me what socket size fits this screw? I found some of what appear to be this exact screw in my stash box and I'd like to be sure. The AIM shows a u-nut instead of a nut as you show which clips to the tabs on the body. Thanks for your help.

Mine are 5/16" heads. Also, yes - these are the same screws that secure the lower (manual) shift boot to the floor. Take a look at them next time you are over at my house. Maybe we can deal

          Hi Jeff
I got 5/16 for the screw bolt and 3/8 for the thin lock washer nut.

As Don replied- The screw bolt is the same as the manual shift boot???

Hmm I'm getting some NOS manual shift screw bolts from a friend of mine and the ones he has said it has a thick glob of glue on the threads. When I get them I will post on the board.
          Hope this helps.

Thanks for your responses. I'm off to Bloomington in about 10 minutes so I'll check back on Sunday.
