Does anyone have a schedule of Fasteners for C2s? I have been working on a 65 chassis and I am having a tuff time determining if the Fasteners are correct. I have looked up most of them in the JG, however they are not always listed. I also tried looking up the part numbers from the assembly manual however it doesn't tell you the finish. Is there a simple way of being sure.

Re: C2 fastener schedule
Hi Bob,
I got into the habit of looking at the on-line catalogs of aftermarket suppliers like LIC, Corvette America, Paragon and others. Most have photos of the fasteners they offer and from the photos you can generally tell if the finish is Cad or black phosphate. If several of the suppliers show a particular finish and the same head mark I think it is reasonable to believe they have researched the fastener and know what the original finish and head mark should be. My '64 JG also mentions the finish and head marks of some but not all bolts.
Lacking anything else to work from, that's how I went about assembling my car.

For the chassis in particular, get a copy of "Chassis Restoration Guide 1953-1972" by Joseph A. Tripoli, and see pages 105-109. It should be available in the NCRS book store or from any of the usual vendors, Amazon, etc. It covers about sixty chassis fasteners in the 1963-1972 section, including headmarks, dimensions and finishes.
There is also an excellent article in a back issue of Restorer Magazine (Fall 1991, Volume 18, #2) titled "The Various Conditions for the Components of the Drive Train and Chassis for the 1966 Corvette" by Robert C. Farrell. It covers the finishes on about 200 chassis and drive train parts, including nuts and bolts.- Top

Do you know if anyone has a PDF of that 1991 article?

Re: C2 fastener schedule
The more recent version of the NCRS Corvette Restorer back-issue CD is in PDF format. There are even articles on there by Gary Beaupre, I just found the article about parking brake cables recently- Top

Re: C2 fastener schedule
Other sources you could look at is M.F. Dobbins' "Vette Vues Fact Book" for the 63-67 Corvette, which contains a summary at the back of fastener head marks, sizes and finishes, and Noland Adams' "Restoration Guide" book.
