i have a 72 LT-1 convertible that i use as a driver. i spent a lot of money restoring the car but i did not make everything correct( yet ). it has black interior and i live in georgia so its use is limited to a few months per year. how bad do you think it would hurt the value of the car to add vintage air? the car has the original drive train but not all accessorys are correct. i have added some stuff to recreate my high school car thats not correct for the car. i aded 69 side exhaust and built a block off pannel for the rear valance to cover the exhaust holes. both can be easily removed. the carb is not correct and neither is the alternator or starter. all of that had been changed when i bought the car. i think it will be a better driver with ac but dont know how bad it will hurt the car. what do you think?

Re: add vintage air to a 72 LT-1 vert?
More on operations than on reduced value. Check with others on their opinion of how well the a/c works as expected. I installed VA last summer, installation was a real pita. Their tech service is great, non better. My a/c blows beyond cold. My car is also a vert. My legs get cold while my body sweats. I have a Dewitts radiator but still have to turn off the unit in traffic to avoid overheating. Definitely not like a modern system. I insulated the entire cabin and the top and windows fit well. The vents are just in the wrong places. Do I like the system, kinda. Am I happy I spent the $$ and the install time, not really.- Top

Re: add vintage air to a 72 LT-1 vert?
My 69 vert has vintage air..it only does anything with the soft top up or the hard top on..so if you do not plan on driving around with either on don't bother..but with them on it turns the cab into a freezer..I found out if I hold the actuator shut for the astro vent in the back it works even better..zip tie did the trick..couldn't comment on judge factor since I havent done that yet..as far as resale it will raise it..people think it will do something..as I did.- Top
