Ever try to install a new dust/grease cap on a front spindle and finally resort to the mallet. Don't. Stick the grease cap in a cold freezer for a couple hours. Set the cap into position as quickly as possible. Take a Rubber mallet to tap into position but don't let the ridge bottom out. Take a paint stir stick, set it against the grease caps ridge on the high side and "tap" it enthusiastically with a Rubber mallet. Don't give up. If one time in the freezer doesn't do it, try again or set the freezer colder. It will work, and your cap will still look perfect.
