'65 (300HP) RH igninition shield mounting

Hello,

I tried to mount the RH back spark plug ignition shield. Not that easy without knowing how it was before.
Does the spark plug shield have to be mounted in the gap of the RH spark wire shield (red arrow) or should it encompass it (green arrow)? I have got 3 screws but only two places on the engine with threads - what do I miss?
Is there anything else I should consider when mounting it?

You're missing the 'J' nut that slides over the bottom hole as seen in your picture on the verticle shield. Check out the AIM, should be seen then. Vendors all have these nuts, good luck,

Ok, with this missing piece I suppose the plug shielding encompasses the vertical shielding, doesn't it?

Oliver -

The wing bolt goes through the hole in the bottom of the rear horizontal shield into the green J-nut that goes over the hole at the bottom of the vertical shield.

See your '65 Assembly Manual, section U69, sheet A9, items 2 & 3 at the lower left corner of the illustration.
