My 66 is stripped, sanded, primed and 3 days away from being shot in Silver Pearl lacquer. My painter ( longtime corvette painter) wants clarification on rear door jamb lock pillar panel Lip. Just so I'm clear per the TIMJ guide, the vertical leading edge that forms a lip that holds the rear quarter trim panels has a Paint line that runs down the entire length of the jamb in the center of the lip ?? The out portion is body color and inner portion interior color ??
Makes sense to me if you have a Body color ( Red, blue, white, etc) on a black interior to differentiate the exterior from interior BUT...........my TF car is Silver pearl on Silver Vinyl.
Q/ Not sure how different the 66 silver interior paint color is from 986AA Silver Pearl but should I have the painter mask off a vertical line and leave it for me to paint with a silver ( interior) spray can or have him paint the entire lip body color silver pearl.
In my view spraying the entire lip silver pearl body color would be cleaner and more professional over masking off and spraying inside lip silver int paint color..........see pics
Thoughts/opinions..........
