    Courtesy light/buzzer switch

I recently removed and cleaned up my door switches. My drivers side courtesy light/door ajar buzzer switch was diff. then the other 3, and I have a few questions. The switch has a cylinder type back. Not the type that has the plastic and 3 holes like the other 3 switches. yes all 4 have the SX on them. Car is a June built 72.
It looks as if the previous owner? just pushed the black and white wires into the cylinder and put electrial tape around them.
My question is how are the 2 wire connected to that switch? They both have the flimsy connectors that all the other switches have and are just pushed in the back of the switch. Do they just push in or am i missing something.
    thanks

Ken, My inderstanding is that 68-72's used the 3 reciver terminal push on. not the single pole tab like the mid years. I don't know when they changed to the single pole. If you have a black and white wire there you need the other plunger retainer and possibly plunger.

        Hi Ken,
Here are 2 pictures of a switch with the connectors.
They prong breaks pretty easily but the connectors are still available.
        I hope this helps you!
        Regards,
        Alan

          Re: Courtesy light/buzzer switch

There were several design variations on the 'SX switch' over time. Which particular version was used depended on what was in stock, what year it was, and where Mickey's big and little hands were. When installed, you can't tell the difference as all you can see is the hex nut and tip of the plunger shaft...
