We just got back from Carlisle, PA. We went to see the Movie "The Quest" which was about the Briggs Cunningham 1960 Corvette that won it's class and was 8th overall at Le Mans in 1960.
It is about 70 minutes long and follows the Vette from Le Mans, through a couple of owners after it was converted back to a street car and how Chip Miller finally got the Vette. It shows how it was verified(including NCRS members) as the 1960 Le Mans car and the restoration back to a Race Car. And the Vette's return to Le Mans.
Chip Miller's dream was to take the 1960 Corvette back to Le Mans with any drivers still alive for it's 50th Anniversary.
As we know Chip died of AMYLOIDOSIS a few years ago so Lance, his son, fulfilled his dad's dream.
Last year Nancy and I were fortunate to be able to go over with Lance and his small group. Incuding John Fitch one of the original drivers. John is now 93 years young.
If you get a chance to buy a CD which should be out in the near future please do. Most of the proceeds will go to the "Chip Miller Foundation.
