    "The Quest" - The Movie

We just got back from Carlisle, PA. We went to see the Movie "The Quest" which was about the Briggs Cunningham 1960 Corvette that won it's class and was 8th overall at Le Mans in 1960.
It is about 70 minutes long and follows the Vette from Le Mans, through a couple of owners after it was converted back to a street car and how Chip Miller finally got the Vette. It shows how it was verified(including NCRS members) as the 1960 Le Mans car and the restoration back to a Race Car. And the Vette's return to Le Mans.
Chip Miller's dream was to take the 1960 Corvette back to Le Mans with any drivers still alive for it's 50th Anniversary.
As we know Chip died of AMYLOIDOSIS a few years ago so Lance, his son, fulfilled his dad's dream.
Last year Nancy and I were fortunate to be able to go over with Lance and his small group. Incuding John Fitch one of the original drivers. John is now 93 years young.

If you get a chance to buy a CD which should be out in the near future please do. Most of the proceeds will go to the "Chip Miller Foundation.

I remember the car at Carlisle last summer..it is a neat story of how its history evolved..I may try and pop up there and see the movie..from what I understand they are only playing it at a theater in Carlisle..

It is my understanding that the movie, "The Quest" will not be playing at any theaters in the near future. Final disposition and future plans are being made by Michael Brown the who made the film.
Watch for info in the future.
By the way the film was fantastic.

Bruce is correct. The showing in Carlisle in the historic Theater was a one time event.
CDs and future showing are in planning stage.
I heard that more footage from Le Mans 2010 may be added.

Rob: Talking to David Brown I am pretty sure it will be available/ compatible for all medias.

Re: "The Quest" - The Movie

Let me 'jump' in and answer a few questions that have arisen:

              Thanks for your interest.

A number of things are in the works for 'The Quest', now that the premiere is behind us. (Thanks to all who came last Friday night in Carlisle!...it was a grand evening)

Yes, we will issue a DVD & Blu-Ray (Not CD, as mentioned) in the not too distant future. Working now on the 'Extras'...as well as a book, personal appearances/screenings and a possible national cable airing.

Though the site is under re-constructrion for updates, check www.questdocumentary.com periodically for information about availability of the movie.

The Premiere at the Carlisle Theatre was a one-time showing, but there will be more, now that we've gaged interest. You'll be hearing about it.

There will be no additional footage from the 2010 LeMans race added for the DVD. While the footage we used is exciting, the story is not about that race, but about the one 50 years before.

I hope this clears up a few facts...I appreciate the interest...and I hope you'll like the film once you see it, if you weren't at the premiere. I really feel there's something there for everyone...and I hope you eventually agree!

              Regards,
              Michael Brown
