    Re: spring restorer

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I consistently get mine pretty early compared to other members. Others do get theirs before me, but shortly after others mention getting theirs, I get mine. Dumb luck I guess.

The PO does no major sorting by hand anymore, it is all done by Zip + 4 at the printer/mailer. There is NO alphabetic sorting anymore.

lets run a experiment, who get their NCRS publication first post their zip codes and let see how many in the same zip code get theirs at the same time. this should tell us if it is a local post office problem if all the zip codes are shipped out at the same time.

The bottom line is that if your bulk mail comes through St Louis you are ___!
          "Lace"

Maybe a bunch of us should head over to the St. Louis PO Distribution center and go "postal" on them Lace!!

I've only been a member since 2005 but according to Dick this has been a problem forever. There is no doubt the NCRS Board of Directors CRINGES everytime they see a "Driveline" thread start up..........and it happens EVERY issue. I know we are talking about the U.S. governement here but I just find it real hard to believe the St Louis hub has had a delivery problem for that many years and it has not been addressed. I mean EVERYBODY has a boss. There is SOMEONE that is over the St. Louis Post Master. I would think in these times when more and more people are moving away from the PO with other options the PO would be trying to KEEP customers and making them happy. Maybe contacting someone at these other publications to put more pressure on someone might be the answer. Since according to Dick there is little to be done.

            Bill,

Hemmings is now offering digital subscriptions and you are not required to have a paper subscription. Guess what, after 40 plus years I'm going to not renew my paper Hemmings and only subscribe to the digital version.

Clem, they do not have to deliver the Driveline the day it gets to your PO. They have five days to do so. So does the center that distributes mail to your PO, so does the Regional Center, etc. Every PO center it goes thru has five days to send it out.

One of the publications that I receive is printed within 50 miles of our printer, as I have stated, I have talked with the editor and he will tell you that it is a continual problem. And so is, on a lesser scale, Detroit, Greensboro at times.

Governmental agencies do not have much of an incentive to improve services it seems. They seem to spend more time CYA.

they seem to get the weekly ads and newspapers out without any delay. there most be something those mailers are doing to get this to happen. maybe things will improve when USPS goes to 5 days a week.

you could print out the online version for use there and put it in the magazine rack.
