Rebuilding a T-10 for a 63...is the spline or output shaft a 16 tooth or a finer 24 to 26 tooth?
Thanks
Henry-----
It's the course spline. I don't recall if it's 16 teeth but it's definitely not the 26 spline. The 26 spline was used from 1965 to 1967 as well as 68-70 with manual transmission. 32 spline was used for 68-70 with THM as well as most 71+.
If it's really a '63 transmission the front input shaft cover will be smaller in outside diameter where it centers in the bellhousing. This is a one year only transmission and makes the bellhousing one year only also.
Muncie 4-speeds never used a course spline(16) out put main shaft, 27 spline 1963 1/2 thru 1970, 32 spline 1971-74 and 1970 BB Chevelles...
Hope this helps... Eric
My P & A catalogs (65 -67-69 ) say otherwise; #3868728 would be the fine spline yoke.

Yes, 1963-64 with Muncie did use a 26 spline output (main) shaft. However, the transmission yoke was not originally GM #3868728. The original yoke was GM #3832678. The 65+ yoke, GM #3868728, replaced it for SERVICE in January, 1965.
