    Testing 63 Headlight Switch

Can you test the switch that turns on and off the headlights?

They were working before I replaced the dash and rear harness, now they don't. The parking lights, tail lights, turn signal, dash, courtesy works, just no headlights. Even the warning light works. All the wiring is new but the switch and the hi/lo beam switch.

When I reassembled the cluster and inserted the knob it was very difficult to get back in. Could I have broke something in there?

    Thanks again for any help.

And that you've actually got juice coming out of the dimmer switch... These switches can/do age to the point that the internal contacts get flakey...

About half of those I harvest from scrap yard cars require being opened up, cleaned and lubricated.

If the power is getting to the parking lights and I can dim my dash lights, does that not imply that the power is coming out of switch?

Yes, but not that it is making it thru the foot operated dimmer switch, or even that the three way connection has been made at the foot operated dimmer switch.
