    LS-5 Oil Pan

    Going to replace my original oil pan, with a new GM pan. it did not come with reinforcments. can they just be put on with out welding them on? also what gasket will pass judging? thanks

    The corner reinforcements are available in reproduction and can be easily added. There is absolutely no need to spot weld them to the pan. The spot welding of the reinforcements was simply an assembly aid.

    I would imagine that a stock-type 4 piece gasket set with cork rail gaskets would be the best for judging. Not for SEALING, though. For SEALING, the one piece gasket is best. A GM #10159519 should do nicely if you want the 4 piece gasket.
