Can anyone please tell me the correct size and shape of the rivets used to attach the front inner splash shield bracket to the bottom of a 1966 Corvette?
Can anyone please tell me the correct size and shape of the rivets used to attach the front inner splash shield bracket to the bottom of a 1966 Corvette?
THANKS:
Barry,
The 455624 rivet replaced the 3828548 rivet (theoretically) on 4/22/66 as per the revision record. Neither rivet was ever sold over the counter as per my 1963 & 1967 Chev. Price Schedules.
The 455624 rivet was used on the instrument panel (the clock mounting bracket and the radio mounting bracket on UPC 1 BOLT WELD, sheet A9, or page F37 in my AIM). You can at least measure the head size and estimate the length assuming your car came with a radio or clock.
I'm sure there are other places where these 2 rivets were used. Spend a little time looking through your assembly manual.

To search it's a big time saver if you get an Excel version of the text of the '66 AIM. Much easier to search that way. I can't remember who I got the Excel file from, but a posting on the DB should get that answer.

Gary,
Wilcox has an electronic version of the AIM. Is that where you got it from? I was thinking of ordering one from them.
