    1963 Master Cylinder Question

Disregard last transmission, I found it....

I had the original master cylinder re-sleeved and purchased the rebuild kit. The metal cup-shaped valve (item #8 in shop manual) that snaps into the large end of the spring is not included in the rebuild kit. Is there something about this valve I need to check before I assemble the MC? When I fill the valve with fluid it slowly drips thru to the small holes on the opposite side. Can I assume just a good cleaning will suffice?

    Thanks in advance!

    Jack -

That's the residual pressure valve, which maintains 10 psi pressure in the lines and wheel cylinders; they're normally included in the rebuild kit. If it was working before and you had a good pedal, it should be OK.
