    Holley Carb

I met a fellow who claims to have a new in the box Holley Carb for a 1966 427 390 HP Vette. Can anyone verify the part number and give me an idea of what it's worth? Thanks.

        Re: Holley Carb

Check to see if Holley is still making these carbs and check archives for some info. I had a service replacement 3810 on my 67 for years with no complaints, nothing wrong with service replacement carburetors.

A service dated carb should work fine but like I said large difference in value between original and service dated

Where would I look for the service date on the carb?

                Pancho,

That's true but other then the date the carburetor is the same.

The list number is 3606 and beneath it it looks like 5B2. Does this mean something like a service date of Feb. 5, 1972?

in operation yes and for the most part in appearance not quite. For one there was a change in the base of the carbs a number of years ago.Somewhere around I have some pictures of a couple of the differences.

3606 is correct for a 390hp car with K19 (smog)

5B2= 2nd week of Dec. 1965 so a good date

Depending on the age, the gaskets may not be suitable for gas with ethanol so a rebuild before using may be necessary.
