just wondering if anyone out there remembers alan green chevrolet in seattle? after some research i have found out they were really into rare race cars and sponsoring race cars. my 64 fuelie came from there and was hoping someone might have pics of the old dealership or maybe old racing photos they could share from that era. i just thought it was really cool to find out my car came from such a cool place known for performance cars. i would've never known this if it wasn't for the shipping report. this is a great service! thank you!

You need to contact Eric Gill. He has the Green Chevrolet 1963 ZO-6 and knows the history of Green Chevrolet and their racing efforts.
He may be found thru "The Restorer" archives for he was the author of many ZO-6 articles back in the 70's.

I special ordered my SWC from Green. My dad and I met with Green and our salesmen was Don Campbell who was Jerry Grant's co-driver at Sebring in '63. Campbell was also a principal in S&S Research who maintained Green's Z-06, which was one of the first batch. S&S Research had a chassis dyno, which was pretty rare back then.

The store was a "modern" late-fiftes/early sixties building with a lot of glass in the showroom on First Ave. South. It might have actually been in Burien, not Seattle.

Green was probably one of the biggest Corvette dealers in the Pacific Northwest with volume of 10-15 Corvettes per month.

Grant is still around and lives in So. Cal., and a few years ago I heard that Green is retired in Orange County.

I don't recall when the store closed. I left Seattle in 1968, and I think it closed sometime in the eighties.

LARRY WEBB was the Racing Director at Allen Green Chevrolet 1958-70. He is VERY ACTIVE at Vintage racing events in the Pacific Northwest. I saw DON CAMPBELL at SEARS POINT (Infinnion) in June 2007 at the Wine Country Classic..

thanks jim! i was hoping to hear from you on this. i have sent them an email asking for a shot in the dark in hopes someone might remember my car.
