Hi Jack
Seeing your car in the snow scene brings back memorys of the days when I had a brand new 66 which I still own, and we drove them every day rain, snow,or shine.I had a set of studded Goodyears for winter driving. Those Midyears sure run good in the snow with studs.Never got stuck.

Hi Steve, yes we drove them all the time. It is hard for some new owners of these cars to understand that they where daily drivers, we had to get to work, no matter what the weather was. And yes, my car was and is great in snow. I have owned mine for 41 years. Congratuations on still having yours. Remember it loves to be driven.
In case you have not seen my 48 state trip post. Enjoy
Nice pictures, I miss maine I spent 12 years up there, while stationed in the Navy. I plan on trailering my 62 up there within the next 2 years, However it will be during the summer, I want to run up RT 1 all the way to cadillac mountain.

Out here in Southern Ohio they put all kinds of crap on the roads.
Start with salt, regular old sodium chloride.
Now they add beet juice to the salt to help depress the freezing point after the salt melts the snow or ice.
Also before there is snow they treat the roads with a brine solution. Most of the time the brine dries and the remaining chemicals blow away.
More ways to throw away the taxpayers money.
I'm from the Ridgefield-Stamford area in Connecticut and I can tell you the people here in Ohio do not know how to drive in any weather then sunny.
Come on Bruce, just put some studded tires and mud flaps on that 62 and drive it. I'll bet if you knew the original owner he'd tell you some stories about back in the day when these cars were used for every day driving.Just kidding.
