    65 water pump heater nipple

Was the water pump nipple for the heater (right side) ever painted with the engine or always added later? Was this area treated as an option or standard equipment.? David

Installed at At Louis, part number 3736495-Nipple find it on sheet E6 of the assy manual (not in the engine section as one would usually presume)

Was there more than one vendor that made the 3736495 heater hose nipple? I have an original 3736495 nipple from a 1964 Chevrolet convertible (eng. stamped "T0127D", Jan. 27, 1964). It has 2 notches on each edge of the 7/8" hex.

          Dave -

I'd bet there were multiple sources - Chevrolet used about 10,000 of them every day.

            Dave------

I believe the notches represent a code which identifies the manufacturer (like the number of ribs on heater hose). I don't know how to decode it, though.
